I am very glad I went with Gerver and his team for my bathroom remodel! He was very detailed in explaining the process to me before starting work. Gerver is very knowledgeable and provided great advice along the way during the entire process. I am very happy with how my bathroom turned out! Everything looks great and is in smooth working order. I will definitely recommend Sunrise Construction to any friends or family who need bathroom or kitchen remodels in the future.

Everything sent extremely well. The owner, Gerver is a true craftsman and a gentleman to book. This was a fairly large project which took some time. Gerver and his helper Pedro worked long hours every day getting it just right. What I really appreciated it was that he would give both construction and aesthetic advice and then leave it to us to decide. As he put it, his job was to point out things, and then make it the way we wanted it. I would highly recommend Sunrise General Construction. I've worked with a number of remodeling firms over the years, and this has been the best experience I've had so far.

After asking for a quote, Gerver texted me asking for address. I texted him the same. After 2 weeks at 11:00 am in the morning, he calls me and tells me he is in the area and can give you a quote in the next one hour. I said, I have a job to do and cannot be available in the next 1 hr. Looks like they want their customer to be available when they are in the nearby area. If they don't have time to give an estimate, they must be having a lot of work, since they are A grade here. Many Angies list A grade contractors behave the same way.

We had our 5x8 bathroom remodeled. The tub and tile were original from the 1950s. They had been reglazed, but the whole room needed updating to make it more functional and nicer to look at.

Gerver replaced the tub, tile surround (removed wallboard down to studs), flooring, toilet and vanity. He had to move the light fixture due to the sink placement in the new vanity and installed a brand new exhaust fan in the shower to vent steam outside (apparently building codes in the 1950s did not allow exhaust fans). He also painted the room. Gerver really did a wonderful job, we could not be more pleased. He arrived on time to provide the estimate and was friendly, knowledgeable and professional from the get-go. It was nice that he was able to give us an estimate on the spot, as other contractors apparently decided our job was too small and couldn't even be bothered to send us a number. The work took about 7 days. Gerver took good care of the rest of our house with tarps and clean up. He did run into some minor issues that we didn't know about until the wall was opened (such as not having a subfloor under the original tub). We did have to spend a little more to address those issues, but it had to be done. Gerver did a good job explaining the situation and I was happy to have it done right. Gerver also did a great job helping us choose the tile, vanity, etc. We talked about how we wanted things to look and Gerver brought in a few samples. It was obvious he really listened to what we looking for and everything came together beautifully. I think he had a hard time finding the size/type vanity we were looking for (it is a little unusual), but we are very happy with what he found. We would definitely be happy to have Gerver come back to our home for future projects!

Remodeled guest bathroom. Removal of old cast-iron tub, floor tile, wall tile, vanity, recessed medicine cabinet, lighting and fan. Repaired damaged subfloor, set concrete to level area for new tub, repaired and leveled walls and floor, installed cement board, installed solid mount for towel bar, installed new floor tile, installed subway tile with accent line to ceiling, installed new deep tub, new fixtures, new lighting, new shower light, vanity with new plumbing, new valves, new vent and painted walls and ceiling. I provided most of the material.

Gerver and Roxeanne worked tirelessly to remodel my full bathroom and were wonderful to have in my home. Sunrise is dedicated to getting the details right and it the end-product showed it. My bathroom was apparently built before 90 degree angles, plumbs and line-levels were invented so lots of what should have been standard installations became a matter of making flat and square what was curvy and the opposite of square. They take pride in what they do and I'm thrilled with the work they've done. I enjoyed having them and look forward to engaging them to do my master bath at some point in the future.

250-300 ft Crown Molding, take down tile in bathroom, re-position pipes, reset tub, put the tiles back up, put up wall tv mounts, paint half of the 3 bedrooms, and touch up painting. 6 outlets in kitchen had to be refitted in the wall, put base molding in the kitchen, patch in drywall and touch up with paint, calk around the bathroom around the sink and tub area, install a sliding tub door, paint and calk the crown molding.

I met with Gerver, he gave me a quote which fit my budget. His prices are reasonable, he’s also very knowledgeable in his trait. Gerver and his worker were always on time, and completed the work the day they told me they would. They picked up all the trash and left nothing behind. I was very pleased with the work and so thankful because I really needed the bathroom remodeled but didn’t have a large budget. Gerver also granted the coupon that was offered on Angie’s List. Don’t hesitate to call you won’t be disappointed.

I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Gerver of Sunrise General Construction was friendly, professional, and provided a great value. I wish I could give a recommendation higher than an A! I couldn't believe what some other contractors were quoting me for my tiny (5x7) rowhouse bathroom...$30,000?! Unreal. Gerver gave me a MUCH more reasonable quote. Of course things popped along the way, but that's to be expected with 1950s construction. Everything (labor, materials, tub, etc) came closer to $10,000 after all was said and done. What I really liked is that he never did anything that would have added to the cost without first running it by me. That's not to say his work was cheap - the results are solid. He also gives a 1 year warranty on his work. Plus, I didn't know what I was doing on this project AT ALL, and he patiently explained what I needed to get and provided some recommendations without being patronizing...which any lady will tell you is a rarity. I also felt really comfortable with Gerver and his team in my home, both when I was away at work and when I was at home. Even my monster of a dog liked him. I couldn't be happier with the results (before and after pics included), and I plan on reaching out to him for some other projects I have in mind.

I cannot say enough great things about this company. Gerver was honest, respectful, dedicated, and did such an amazing job! I’m sure they’re a wonderful company, but the estimator simply did not show up at the time he suggested. When you do not show up, you tell the customer “your business is not important to me.” Sorry, I can’t give my money to anyone who tells me that. Unfortunately Angie’s list doesn’t have a “did not show” rating. An F is a little unfair, but it’s also true that this company Failed so show up.

I had received multiple estimates from electricians and another contractor, and I had received conflicting advice on permit and other requirements from the contractors, my insurance adjuster, power company, and Fairfax County. Gerver responded quickly and identified the quickest and most cost-effective way to resolve all of the problems. Gerver and his team resolved all of the problems within 48 hours of initial contact. They did a great job, and the cost was reasonable. I would highly recommend Sunrise General Construction.

They repaired a door and re-grouted an entire small bathroom. The bathroom has tiles all around, on the walls and the floor. They re-grouted all that. Then they painted. Then they came out and did the hallway, the hall, the living room and dining room area walls, trims and ceilings. Then, the same thing for the kitchen.

I've used them several times. It is a company that I highly recommend and I use over and over for a lot of handyman work. We've had the bathroom, the hall, the kitchen and the living room painted. We've had a lot of stuff done. The reason we use them is that the price is very reasonable. Not only that, they clean up after every day of work, which not everyone does. They pay attention to detail and do nice, neat work. Even if they were a little more expensive - and they're not, I would probably still use them just because of that. They are exceptional. I've been using them for everything from electrical work, plumbing, lighting, drywall, painting, finishing and some floor work. I'm adding some rooms to my house. They're doing all that.

I have hired Sunrise General Construction multiple times. Most recently, Sunrise renovated all three bathrooms in my house. Let me first say for a complete bathroom remodel, we had several estimates which ranged between $11,000 and $15,000. These estimates were listed as "low end, and best case scenario." Due to poor workmanship by our home's previous owners, we were suffering extensive water damage in the bathroom, which damaged the sub-floor and resulted in mold. This complete gut of our bathroom was unexpected, and needed to commence immediately. The estimate provided by Gerver, of Sunrise General Construction was welcome news, and he was able to begin work with a week of our first meeting. We purchased the tub, vanity, tile, and fixtures ourselves. I'm an early riser. Gerver and his crew would arrive promptly at 7:30am and work nonstop throughout the day and into the evening. Our job was a challenging one, with unforeseen difficulties and many problems (none were the fault of Sunrise). Gerver's crew powered though and overcame these obstacles, and even completed the job 36 hours prior to our very firm deadline. Gerver understood our urgency to finish on time, and we ultimately came within the agreed budget. This was our first remodel, and major renovation of any kind. Gerver was polite, knowledgeable, patient, and reassuring. In a world where so many construction jobs end in disagreement and litigation, Sunrise General Construction is a gem, and Gerver is a gifted supervisor. My family now holds a deep trust in Gerver and his crew. I cannot express enough gratitude in solid, and quality work that was well done. Gerver's most important priority is insistence that the work be completed correctly. Our new bathroom is without question the nicest bathroom I have ever had. The work is solid, and perfect. Thank you, Sunrise General Construction.

In preparations for the sale of my 3 BR, 2.5 BA two level penthouse condo in Arlington Virginia: I received separate separate bids for each of the services provided from 2-3 contractors before selecting SUNRISE General Construction LLC. There was only one service which I chose to go with a separate contractor (Kitchen Granite Install) because of the timeline for completing the work for the open house. The high quality of work, the exacting attention to detail, the thorough daily cleanup and prompt daily start time allowed for my condo to sell in less than a week for $389K. I am very confident in this service provider and will continue to recommend them highly to all my friends and family. Gerver did an excellent job. The pictures speak for themselves. However, it was not a perfect interaction. Continue to read for the entire encounter. I would recommend-but be sure you know what you are getting into. Pros: Excellent end result (which is most important) Cons: -Slow response time (a few days for initial inquiry response and 3 weeks waiting for written proposal) -even with contract in place wanted to nickel and dime and charged me for "plumbing" even though that was on our contract but he stated he didn't realize my plumbing project was going to be so hard (going from 2 sinks to 1 sink, going from identical faucet to the same faucet with the touch feature and installing a brand new garbage disposal to replace the old one) -wanted $1550 to shim the bottom of 5 cabinets (which he discovered were not level) Story: He was not the cheapest - I received 5 bids and his was the second most expensive bid (even with Angie's list discount) but he made me feel confident he could get the job done (he cost about $800 more than the company Home Depot recommended). He came in and did a great job (when you consider beginning job and end result) . From beginning he informed me my current cabinets were not level. When I asked how much he would charge to level 5 base cabinets, he gave me a very high price-$1500 (I felt it was high because he didn't want to do the job which was sad. I later got a quote from another contractor and it was less than half what Gerver wanted to charge me). So I ended up getting a friend to help level and I got it done for free and it took about 2 hours. Due to my overhang length-15"-I couldn't find brackets in store and it seemed he was a little upset he'd have to return for an additional day once the brackets arrived by mail. When it was time for him to install the brackets-it initially took him about 2 hours for 4 brackets. He left and I realized the brackets were not installed level. I called him immediately and he returned within 2 minutes. He quickly realized the issue and stayed an additional 2 hours to correct HIS error. It would have been nice if he would have done it correctly the first time to save everyone time. The job entailed reducing a knee wall from 52" to counter height and extending knee wall, adding a trash cabinet, removing granite and backsplash, rewiring light switch to entrance of the kitchen, dropping two electrical outlets, installing/uninstall plumbing, add L-brackets for support, and adding backsplash. During the work-we decided to reduce the work and eliminate anything requiring extension of hardwood floor. After we discussed this-Gerver never mentioned reducing the rate-even though he wasn't going to be doing the "hardest part" of the work-extending the hardwood floor. This was upsetting. In fact, he wanted more money for the plumbing because he said it was more "difficult" than he had anticipated. We went from 2 sinks to one, identical make/model faucet (but with touch sensor) and a brand new garbage disposal. This cost $245. Once he installed plumbing, my garbage disposal began leaking and would not drain. I texted him a video on a Friday and NEVER heard back from him. I had to call a plumber for "emergency" on the weekend. It was discovered Gerver forgot to knock out the inner seal that comes with most garbage disposals. Therefore, it was not installed properly. When I informed Gerver what happened he acknowledged what he did but basically said that never happened before and he couldn't believe the plumber charged me $100. Again-no mention that I should reduce his rate due to his error. Finally, the project took about 5.5 days (3.5 days to remove granite and backsplash, reduce kneewall, add trash cabinet; 4 hours to install 4 brackets for granite support; 1 day (12 hours) to install backsplash (30 sq ft), grout, and add moulding to kneewall. I believe he could have worked more quickly but he was a talker-so that added time (which I don't believe should count against me). For the above reasons-I would recommend Sunrise only if you get an itemized contract and if you decide to not do a portion of the job-ask him to agree he will not charge for work not performed. Also-if he discovers an issue and provides you a quote -get a second opinion because he may be high rolling you since you may be trapped regarding time and resources. Make sure the price you agree to is for the entire job and not just an "estimate" of how long he thinks it will take. Gerver and his coworker were very kind. However, Gerver constantly found reasons to tell me why the project was so hard and harder than expected. He constantly informed me that most contractors don't go out of their way to ensure the project is perfect. It was a bit overkill in my opinion. This is an honest assessment. The end result was beautiful but getting there was a pain in the rear-but I think that's the case w all contractors-not just Sunrise. Nonetheless I trusted him enough to leave him in my house alone-so that speaks volumes as well. Thanks Gerver and Noah for doing a great job! The hiccups getting to a great end result were not fun but we got through it!

I purchased a $1500 deal on Angie's List for a complete bathroom retiling. When the contractor saw the job, he said with plaster walls and all it'd be more expensive and complex to do it, but I felt like he gave us a fair updated price (totaling $4600 including the purchased deal, and also including the installation of a new sink and redoing the faucets and fixtures in the bath). They managed to do the entire job in a week!

It went well. I was completely uneducated as to the extent of a project like this. It took longer than I expected due to some unforseen issues that popped up with the drain and the plumbing. However, that being said, the finished product was well done...and well received by my wife. 🙂 Gerver and Noah are excellent professionals. Gerver maintained excellent communication on the project and, when the project went longer than expected and he had to start another project elsewhere, he stayed in touch with us regarding his return to finish out our project. The bathroom looks great, and the entire process took about 2 weeks (10 business days). We learned that he had around 15 years of experience and it showed through his efficiency. He also was great with our dogs who constantly barged in on him. We learned that Gerver speaks English quite well, even though his native language is Spanish. We had no difficulties with any language barriers. Even after he was done working for the day, sometimes he would stick around and chat with my family. Short version: I am very happy with the results and Gerver's attention to detail. Long version: Gerver, Roxanne and their assistant did an excellent job renovating my small but troublesome bathroom. Their attention to detail was superb and it was clear that it was of utmost importance to Gerver to get things right, even if it took extra time. My condo unit is old (built 1938) and had received a shoddy remodeling job in 2005. In addition to the work we agreed on initially, which Gerver completed with no issues, he discovered several problems that he proceeded to fix. The floor needed to be leveled, a leak under the bathtub needed to be fixed, and some plumbing for the shower reworked. This added about 15% to the initially estimated cost as well as a few days to the duration of the project, but neither was unreasonable in my opinion. Compared to a couple similar projects I am familiar with, the cost was fair, and given the amount of work that had to be done, Gerver and his crew worked with as much urgency as they could without cutting corners. I could not be happier with the results. If I could think of anything at all to keep in mind, it would be this: Gerver's normal approach is to collect his fee in three installments, 1/3 at the beginning, 1/3 half-way through, and the balance at the end. However, he forgot to tell me this at our first meeting. No big deal, just be sure to clarify all the terms ahead of time.

They replaced the drop ceiling on our lower level, consisting of a family room, bedroom/den, and half bath. They tore out the drop ceiling and installed drywall, then painted the ceiling. Initially, I was hesitant re: drywalling, and was leaning towards having a new drop ceiling installed because of the mess and dust in particular. They convinced me to let them give me a "real" ceiling and promised the drywall dust would not permeate every nook and cranny in our house. I was delighted with the result......and no mess! Final Note: $3,100 cost (approximate) included all materials, haul-away of mountains of debris, and labor. Worth every penny!!
